took us many, many months of searching to find the ideal property
for our gite project.
We were looking for the right sort of place - one that provided
a calm and peaceful environment in the beautiful French countryside
so that we could create a holiday location that people would enjoy,
free from noise and light pollution, without having to be located
in the middle of nowhere and miles from any amenities - not an easy
Le Bouchet we found the perfect place, an old farm on a small hill
just a couple of kilometres from the small town of Descartes and
the village of Abilly.
Le Bouchet has a very long history in the region and is marked,
with its original tower on one of the very first maps ever made
of the area in the Eighteenth century and its buildings were perfect
for our gites.
to a very high standard providing comfortable and spacious accomodation,
each gite also has its own private south facing large garden or
terraced area that provides an ideal spot to eat out and enjoy the
sunshine. There is easy access to the rest of the gardens at Le
Bouchet which includes plenty of areas for children to play in with
a swing, slide, climbing frame and badminton and a very large landscaped
pool area with a heated swimming pool and sun terrace.
Laiterie accomodates up to ten people and Les Ecuries up to seven;
both having a bedroom downstairs they are well suited for guests
who are less mobile, particularly Les Ecuries, which has wider doorways
and wet room to accomodate wheelchair access and a decked terrace
at the same level as the gite living area.
Both gites are equipped with WiFi Internet.
