is so much to see and do, whether cycling and walking locally
or going further afield in the Loire Valley and Vienne regions
including chateaux, cathedrals, fascinating villages and old
towns and there are markets throughout the area and a local
Sunday market in Descartes.
chateaux at Villandry and Azay le Rideau are two of our favourite
chateaux but for the children there is Ussé, the Sleeping
Beauty castle and Le Rivau one of the few chateaux that actually
caters for children!
lake at St Cyr deserves a very special mention with its sandy
beach and Haute Touche is a wildlife reserve like no other.
don't just take our word for it, have a look for yourself
on our Loire
Valley Vienne tourism website to find out more
and here are a few of our guests recommendations:
- expensive but a full day of fun for all of us (2 to 43 years
of age!) ~ Cameron family
highly recommend "Chez Grandma" in Le Grand Pressigny.
Delicious French cuisine and extremely friendly people.
~ Mathews family
du Rivau - lots of fun for families and young children. Follow
fairytale trail to magical play areas, a maze and find a pair
of giant's wellies!!
~ Corcoran family
- canoeing down the river was one of our favourite activities
along with the Ethni-cité caves ~ Crooks family
thoroughly enjoyed a couple of days at Lac St Cyr ~ Walker
and Taylor families
rail at Chauvigny - excellent fun especially if the children
cycle! ~ Cameron family
